Partnerships

Over the past few years, the Network has formed partnerships with a number of organizations active in the language industry in Canada, namely CLEF, Magistrad, and OTTIAQ. Under the agreements framing those partnerships, members can avail themselves of preferential rates on selected activities organized by the partner. Furthermore, each organization undertakes to promote its partner’s activities.

Carrefour des langagiers entrepreneurs / Language Entrepreneurs Forum (CLEF)

The CLEF aims to bring micro-enterprises and self-employed workers active in the field of language services together for networking purposes, as well as to defend their political and professional interests and provide training and information.

The CLEF undertakes to offer preferential rates to members in good standing of the NTE who register for an activity organized by the CLEF, where such rates are provided. Conversely, the RTE undertakes to offer preferential rates to members in good standing of the clef who register for an activity organized by the NTE, where such rates are provided.

Magistrad is a professional development school for translators founded in 2006 by its president, François Lavallée, cert.trans. Some 1,000 individuals enroll in the school’s courses every year. Theirs comments can be found in the course descriptions.

Under an agreement signed in June 2009, CLEF and NTE members can claim a 15% discount on all Magistrad courses. Conversely, anyone registering for an CLEF or NTE activity can claim a discount if they attended at least one Magistrad course within the preceding twelve months.

In issuing a permit, the Order attests to the competence and professionalism of an individual holding the title of certified translator, terminologist or interpreter.

OTTIAQ will offer preferential rates to members in good standing of the NTE who register for an activity or subscribe to a service organized by OTTIAQ, where such rates are provided.
