Workshop on self-revision

The RTE organizes this activity in partnership with Editors Canada.

The NTE Coordinating Group is pleased to announce that a workshop on self-revision will be held this fall! Our long-time partner, the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF/FCE), also contributes.

Description

Self-revision

Trainer: Georges Bastin

The workshop presents the obstacles to self-revision and the revision parameters according to Horguelin and Pharand, as well as Mossop. Several self-revision methods and principles are then explained. Unilingual and bilingual exercises, both individually and in groups, illustrate the presentation.

A full professor at the University of Montreal, Georges L. Bastin is the president of the Canadian Association of Schools of Translation, and a certified OTTIAQ translator. He heads the Research Group on the History of Translation in Latin America (histal.net), and is interested in the pedagogy of writing, editing, and translation, as well as the history of translation.
